With the launch of new content section «Le Look du Jour» in April, 24 Sèvres invites the women who compose its ecosystem to showcase their personalities and individual styles : friends of the brand, customers, models, as well as its own team members, based in the heart of the action in Paris, are all represented. Each day, a new look is shared alongside styling tips to inspire the successful mix & match that is so quintessential of parisienne style.
Before her trip to Cannes for the film festival, the French actress was given access to the 24 Sèvres closet to make her edit.
We sat down with you before your departure for Cannes film festival, tell us about that day.
When I arrived that morning, I was floored by the edit. I love playing with fashion the same way I love playing with my characters, and the inspiration and freedom of that day were incredible.
Every day on 24 Sèvres, we showcase a new style inspiration... and we all know style isn’t always an exact science. How do you build your own looks ?
Your edit has a point of view, it celebrates different designers, individuality. It was fun to discover it in person. If I had one tip to give, it would be to avoid the ‘total look’ approach. Mixing & matching different designers is always a good starting point in building a look that feels personal.
Speaking of style, what does « Parisienne style » mean to you ?
There are as many parisiennes as there are women. I’m not a fan of generalizations, we should be celebrating the diversity of women instead of trying to define them. For me, great style is practical, elegant, with a touch of irreverence. It’s the anti-cliché, and it’s always the best look.
"I love Virgil Abloh’s work with Off-White, and so admirative of the craftmanship at Céline. I look forward to Hedi Slimane’s creations, I have always marveled at his way with silhouettes" [Leila Bekhti with 24 Sèvres]
Tell us about your most memorable Cannes moment.
I have two. 82 of us, led by Cate Blanchett and Agnès Varda, climbing those famed steps. They made a joint declaration on women’s equality in film, which was very powerful. I am convinced that I was part of a necessary moment in time. Another very personal moment was the presentation of our film « Le Grand Bain ». It was a very special moment shared with the full team. At the end of the screening, I was profoundly moved by the standing ovation the film received, and thrilled for Gilles Lellouche, our director. I cannot wait for the film to come out on screens and for everyone to discover it. (Note: the film’s French release date is set for October 24th)
Finally, you selected your top picks from 24 Sèvres. Any new discoveries, new crushes ?
I love Virgil Abloh’s work with Off-White, and so admirative of the craftmanship at Céline. I look forward to Hedi Slimane’s creations, I have always marveled at his way with silhouettes. 24 Sèvres introduced me to contemporary labels I (re)discovered, like Etudes, Acne Studios, and I remember loving the collection you did with AMI last year. Jacquemus too ! I am obsessed with his audacity, I still haven’t forgotten the incredible hat from our shoot day, a true piece of art !
