On Tuesday, September 25th, Day 2 of Paris Fashion Week, applecore celebrated at Nous the unveiling and launch of “IDENTITY,” name of its highly-anticipated Fall-Winter 18 collection.
IDENTITY is actually the first part of a three-episode series about human evolution, through which the fashion brand’s founders Steven and Moriba reflect on human character development, a process influenced by life, education, entourage and experiences, in a society evolving with digital and artificial intelligence.
The story is told through the colour palette of the collection; white and neutral tones represent the purity and candour of a newborn, the electric blue, red and orange of the velvet tracksuits (recently seen on rappers Koba laD, Adian Coker and Moha La Squale) stand for life’s trials and tribulations and risk-taking. Finally, black incarnates the hardness of life and bad choices.
“The collection reveals how we built ourselves, from childhood to adulthood, the people we surround ourselves with and how the ups and downs of our respective and now common paths came up,” explain Steven Alexis and Moriba Koné. “It embodies a generation of open-minded people, embracing the world and its diversity.”
applecore’s IDENTITY is available now at Nous, located at 48, rue Cambon, 75001 Paris.
