“Clout Cobain” recently dropped. How do you feel?
‘Clout Cobain’ shows a different side of my music, me as a person, my thoughts and how I actually feel about everything that’s currently going on. I feel like it shows a different range and different personality to what everyone usually gets to see. Everybody is still stuck on ‘Ultimate’ or ‘Imperial’ or what I did on the hardcore stuff, and no one really gets to hear the melodic stuff from me. I feel like this opens the audience and more people to my music.
What’s the story behind your new single ? How was your approach different than previous singles?
I actually wrote that shit when I was mad. Me and this person I knew were really going through it because of a misunderstanding. Well, it wasn’t a misunderstanding, we were just on the opposite ends of the spectrum. She felt like I wronged her, I felt like I didn’t do anything wrong. We ended up not being friends and then when I was going through beats at the time, that beat popped up and I already had something in my head for it. At first I was going to do some regular rappity-rap stuff, until that beat came on and the message came at the same time. That’s how I was feeling at the time, it was kind of depressing. Me and her are friends now, I told her: ‘You inspired the song.’, she was like: ’What? I inspired what?”, and I said: “Yeah, you inspired this song because of the argument we had.”
What drew you to Hip Hop?
I just like music. It’s not really just Hip Hop. I like everything.
How would you describe your musical style?
I don’t know. Everybody classifies it as trap metal etc. But I do all types of shit. I can rap, I can sing, I can do punk if I wanted to. I can do anything, so I really can’t have a genre put on my style because I’d confuse them.
Where did you learn how to write lyrics?
I’d been writing lyrics forever. One of my teachers made me really good at writing songs. Her name is Ms. Paris. Shout out to Ms. Paris for teaching me how to be a hell of a writer.
You talk openly about mental health. How are you feeling now?
Mentally stable. But unstable at the same time.

"More videos, more life, more killa shit, more melodic shit, more grunge shit, more sad shit, more happy shit. Just all around emotions and music, just making sure I don’t disappear ever again" [Denzel Curry]
You announced you were quitting rap. But here you are. For good ?
First of all, I never said I was quitting rap. The media and everybody else said I was quitting rap. I just said I’m taking a break from social media. Whoever thought I was quitting rap was a fucking idiot.
What is the first album you ever owned?
Man, y’all won’t believe me when I say this. It was actually Lupe Fiasco ‘Food And Liquor’. That was the first album I ever bought. And the first rapper that I was actually a fan of. I was a stan. I even bought the second album ‘The Cool’. I didn’t buy the third album though, I would never buy the third album. Fuck that.
What’s a song you have stuck in your head these days?
‘#ImSippingTeaInYoHood’ is a song I have stuck in my head these days.
In your opinion, what does the best rap music accomplish?
Getting its point artistically and still maintaining its style, having the best lyricism and being able to give all types of people, of different races and genders, all on the same page.
Who’s your fashion icon and why?
Andre 3000 is my fashion icon because he dresses so differently. I look up to him, besides rapping I always liked the way he dressed.
Do you have collaborations happening in the future?
Me and Ferg are talking, me and Rocky. Me and SpaceGhostPurrp. Ghostemane, AK from The Underachievers, IDK, JID of course, Belly. I will work with JPEG Mafia more.
What else do you have in store for 2018?
More videos, more life, more killa shit, more melodic shit, more grunge shit, more sad shit, more happy shit. Just all around emotions and music, just making sure I don’t disappear ever again.
